Government announces Rs 5 lakh and a government job to a kin

Guwahati, November 2, 2018:

The Assam government has announced a financial relief of Rs 5 lakh for the family of each deceased in the Tinsukia firing accident.

Minister Keshab Mahanta on Friday visited the victims’ families and said, “Although the All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation demanded Rs 20 lakh to each of the victim’s family but after having discussion we have decided to give Rs 5 lakh each and a government job to a kinof the victim's family.

Meanwhile, Assam Director General of Police, Kuladhar Saikia said, “We will make sure no one who performed the act last night can escape. The investigation has been initiated and we also request the people not the pass any provocative remarks in any platform. We are also screening the social media to avoid such incidents.”
