The Assam Government, on August 28 started the appointment process for the lower and upper primary teachers who had cleared the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in Assam.

The Assam government on Friday appointed 5,319 lower and upper primary teachers under the department of elementary education who had cleared Teachers Eligibility Test (TET).

The state education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on social media.

Himanta Biswa informed, “The chief minister asked us to appoint 50 thousand teachers this year. We are trying to achieve the target by February. We are appointing 10 thousand more teachers in September.” He further stated that the appointment of high school teachers will begin in September.
