GUWAHATI: Assam principal secretary of health Samir Sinha today said the Assam government was unaware of Regional Medical Research Centre, NE's (ICMR-NE) warning issued in the month of February on the presence of COVID-19 UK strain in Assam.
Asked whether the government had taken any measure after receiving the letter which was not made public, Sinha replied: "I am aware of this particular letter by ICMR, Lahowal. UK strain might be present as well as other strains and we are taking every step that supposed to be taken to contain the virus."
