Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on July 25th, 2020 slammed the BJP-led state government for violating the COVID-19 protocol which led to a ‘rise in COVID-19 cases’ in the state.
“The Governor House was declared as containment zone after around 73 persons including officers and staff at Rajbhawan were tested COVID-19 positive. Sudden withdrawal of the status by the state government is a gross violation of COVID-19 protocol,” the senior Congress leader said.
Besides, he accused the Governor Jagdish Mukhi of violating the COVID-19 protocol in the state. “The Governor, aged about 77years, being the Constitutional head of the state, visited different flood-affected areas of the state. This is a violation of the protocol. He should have set an example to the fellow citizens,” he added.
He, moreover, added, “If a responsible person like Governor, Constitutional head does not follow the rules and regulation how we could expect a common man to behave like law abiding citizen.”
