GUWAHATI: Amid the ongoing border dispute between Assam and Mizoram, the Assam government on Thursday advised the people of the state to not travel to Mizoram.
These advisories have been issued to ensure safety and security, said the state government in a notification.

The state government further urged people of Assam, staying in Mizoram due to work related compulsion to exercise with utmost caution.
It stated that there has been several cases of violent skirmishes in the border area of
Assam and Mizoram and these have occurred recently in the 3 (three) districts of Assam namely- Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi.
These Advisories will come into force with immediate effect and be given
publicity for wider public knowledge and adhere, stated the notification.
