Chairmen of all Assam government-owned corporations and boards will now carry a fat salary packet as their salaries have been hiked by 500%.
As against the fixed monthly remuneration of Rs 10,000, the chairmen will now take home Rs 50,000.
Similarly, the vice-chairmen, created after the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government assumed power, will earn Rs 40,000.
The hike follows a decision to this effect by the State government recently, sources confirmed.
