Assam Govt issues rules for reopening of Schools; Check list here

GUWAHATI: With the schools across Assam gearing up to reopen schools for primary classes, the Assam Government has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure the safety of the students.

As per the SOPs issued by the government, the classes from I to V will be held on alternate days. On the other hand, the classes of IV and V will be held on every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Again, the classes of the students of standards I, II, and III will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The classes will start at 9 AM and shall wrap up at 1:45 PM, the SOPs further stated.

The Government SOPs also informed that the students will be offered midday meals from 12:15 PM-12:45 PM.

"The heads of the schools have been instructed to maintain the COVID-19 protocols", the SOPs stated, adding, "the students will have to come with the permission of the parents."

According to the SOPs, the teachers can conduct the online classes also along with regular classes if necessary.

Meanwhile, the Government has also announced restrictions on holding meetings, cultural programs could be organized inside the school premises

Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the classes will be held regularly from the first day of January.
