Assam: Govt nominated members from 6 communities take oath in BTC Legislative Assemblybtc legislative assembly

KOKRAJHAR: The 6 government nominated members in Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) today took oath as members of the BTC Legislative Assembly on Tuesday at a programme held at the BTCLA auditorium Hall in Kokrajhar.

The members have been nominated by Governor of Assam from the unrepresented communities in the recent concluded BTC council elections.

BTC Legislative Assembly Secretary Dr. Sanatan Deka administered the oath to the government nominated members in the presence of BTC chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro, deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, BTCLA speaker Katiram Boro.

The nominated members included two women members who are namely Wilson Hasda (Santhal), Madhav Chandra Chetry (Gorkha), Sampawati Deka (Sarania Kochary), Pradip Kumar Bayan (Keot), Hemanta Kumar Rabha (Rabha), and Arpana Medhi (General).

Chetry took oath in the Nepali language, Wilson Hasda took oath in Santhali language, and the remaining four others took oath in the Assamese language.

So far, the executive council of the Bodoland Territorial Council has 9 members including the chief executive member and deputy chief executive member since oath-taking ceremony on 15th December last under the leadership of Pramod Boro as the chief executive member in the UPPL-BJP-GSP coalition government in the BTC.

Attending the swearing-in-ceremony of government-nominated members, BTC CEM Pramod Boro said that his coalition government in the council has first nominated members from unrepresented communities in the council and accordingly the Governor accorded approval.
