BAKSA: A number of government officials of the in Assam's Baksa district were left red-faced when a sudden inspection revealed empty rooms, with some officials arriving post 2 pm in the afternoon.
After visiting the office SDO (Civil) Dr. Bedanga Talukdar told media persons, "During my sudden visit many officers and employees were absent till 2 pm with no apparent reasons."
According to the SDO (Civil), The office of the Tamulpur Block Development officer in BTR chief Pramod Boro's home constituency was found virtually empty, with locks hanging on the doors of some of the rooms.
He further said that necessary action will be taken against the officers and employees who were absent, neglecting their duties.
It may be noted that this has occured at a time when BTR chief Pramod Boro has come out against the employees who have gone to office after 10 am at the BTR secretariat. It will be interesting to see what action the government will take against those employees of Tamulpur Development Block office.
While Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma has been strict against the officers and employees who have been found negligent in the government offices, this incident in the home constituency of BTR Chief Pramod Boro raises questions about the government's success in this regard.
