Debabrata Saikia, the current Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly has raised the issue of irregularities in testing kit procurements in Assam. The Congress leader has submitted such concerns to the Lokyakta.

"The government procurement of testing kits has a problem. I have received a mail-in June where I knew that Assam and UP govt has procured test kits but Asam has paid 600 rs which is more than what UP paid. I have made allegations to see through whether the process has been done in a fair way".
