Assam: Hardcore NSCN (R) Militant Nabbed in Tinsukia District

Tinsukia, August 3, 2019:

In a latest development, a notorious cadre belonging to the proscribed outfit Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (R) has been nabbed by security forces at in Tinsukia district of Assam.

The joint operation was launched based on specific intel by the Lekhapani Police and 9 no. Rajputana Regiment. The cadre was apprehended at 9-Mile in Tinsukia district of Assam. The nabbed cadre has been identified as Daniel Sanki, a Sargeant Major of the outfit from Arunacha's Changlang district, which shares its border with Assam.

A 7.6 mm handgun, a magazine, five round of live ammunition were nabbed from the militant by the security forces.

He has been taken to the Lekhapani Police station and a case has been registered against him.

It may be mentioned that a cadre if NSCN (IM) called Thangmeishu Kasak was apprehended in Margerita of Tinsukia not too long ago.

“On the evening of July 27, Tinsukia district police with the help of Lekhapani based army units launched an operation based on specific intelligence inputs. Next morning, we captured the NSCN-IM cadre from an area close to Namdang tea estate under Margherita. Investigation is on, and we will take action in accordance with law,” said Tinsukia SP Siladitya Chetia, in regards to his arrest.
