Guwahati, February 16, 2020:

Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary has alleged that the Government of Assam has been sold out to the corporate entity of Times of India network.

Speaking with Inside Northeast, the MP said, “The Times group had come here for business. They are businessmen and their concern is to run the business through the show. The whole show was run by the Times group. Assam government had no role to play.”

The Rajya Sabha MP further said one of the organizing team members asked him to show his ticket. “I kept shifting my seat. I was asked to show my ticket but when I was told that mine was not the one, I left the venue. Since the Times of India group was given the sole responsibility to manage the event, the Assam Tourism department had no control over the event most probably. Assam has been sold out to the Times group. There’s nothing left for me or you to do,” he alleged.

However, since the Times group had come here solely for business purpose, there was nothing for me to do. I came out.”
