Assam honours HSLC toppers with Anundoram Baruah Award

The Anundoram Baruah Award is presented to 27,183 deserving students of HSLC in Assam on November 29. Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu attended the ceremonial distribution of the award function held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakhetra, Panjabari, Guwahati.

The ceremonial award function in Dibrugarh district held at the District Library, Dibrugarh was attended by Ashok Singhal, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Irrigation.

An amount of Rs 15000 each was transferred to 1097 meritorious students of HSLC of the district who secured a minimum of 75% marks through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) to the respective accounts.

Dibrugarh MLA Prashanta Phukan, Duliajan MLA Teros Gowala, Chabua MLA Punakon Baruah, Moran MLA Chakradhar Gogoi, ATDC Chairman, Rituparna Baruah, District Commissioner, Dibrugarh, Bikram Kairi, District Development Authority Chairman, Ashim Hazarika, CEM of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council, Tankeswar Sonowal, Indra Gogoi, Vice Chairman, Assam Gas Co Ltd. and a host of dignitaries were present on the occasion.
