Assam: Huge quantity of wash, ID liquor destroyed

In continuation of the drive against illicit liquor, joint teams of police and excise department conducted raids on illicit distilled (ID) liquor and fermented wash in several tea gardens in the district and destroyed 20 litres of illicit distilled liquor, 260 litres of fermented wash, 25 kgs of molasses and four sets of distilling apparatus on Wednesday in Hailakandi, Assam.

Meanwhile, four new corona positive cases have been confirmed in Assam. 4 of the cases are detected in the Sarusajai Quarantine centre. Two of them belong to West Karbi Anglong and 1 each from both Darrang and Udalguri.

With this case, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has gone up to 203. Of the 203 confirmed cases, 142 are active cases while 54 have been cured or discharged and four have died of the infection in the state so far. Three COVID-19 patients have been migrated. Assam has the highest number of positives followed by Tripura. Sikkim so far has 0 home cases.
