Indigenous Muslim bodies of Assam have announced to donate Rs five lakh for the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
After the Supreme Court’s verdict on the disputed Ayodhya land, a forum of as many as 21 organisations representing ‘indigenous’ Muslims have decided to extend its support to the building of Ram Mandir.
Welcoming the verdict of the apex court, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mominul Awal said that the historic verdict has removed the barriers for construction of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

He added that the Janagosthiyo Samannay Parishad, Asom, a forum of 21 organisations representing indigenous Muslim communities such as Goria, Moria, Deshi, Jola and others have decided to contribute Rs 5 lakh to the trust, which will construct the Ram Mandir.
In its historic judgment on the disputed Ayodhya land, the Supreme Court, headed by a five-judge bench, led by the Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi, allotted a total of 2.77-acre land to the Hindu parties. The bench also included Justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer.

The Supreme Court also directed that a Trust be formed by the Centre to monitor the construction of Ram Mandir. The Sunni Waqf Board will get 5 acres of alternate land, which will be accorded either by the state or the Centre for construction the Masjid.
