Assam: Inquiry Ordered Into Physical Assault Case of ACS Officer

Kokrajhar, September 21, 2019:

Assam state government has ordered an inquiry into the assault case of an ACS Officer by Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police (SP), Rajen Singh.

After videos of physical assault inflicted on the ACS Officer surfaced online, the government directed the Commissioner of Lower Assam Division to look into the matter.

Kokrajhar SP, Rajen Singh was allegedly seen assaulting a district executive magistrate executive Sailen Das inside a hotel complex in the wee hours of September 10, 2019.

RTI activist Dulal Bora brought the incident to light on September 20. He filed a complaint against the SP at the Criminal Investigation of Department (CID) of Assam police.

The entire incident was captured in the CCTV cameras which were installed inside the premises of the hotel in Kokrajhar.
