While speaking with Inside Northeast, Kanak Sen Deka said, “There are two opinions – one-- that the country’s economy is going up and our Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both are proclaiming that the economy is going up and will be a five-million-dollar economy soon. Whereas, the second—that the opposition parties particularly CPI and Congress are criticizing the Government’s economic policies. They say that few people are having a hold on the entire money.”
Expressing discontentment over the prevailing economic crisis Deka quoted, “This is a condition, but I feel that the economy of the country is not very good.”
It is to be mentioned here that on 23 December, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at its annual review informed that India is in the middle of a significant economic slowdown due to the alarming situation that has been prevalent across the nation because of C(A)A and NRC, and urged the government to take immediate precaution to reverse this current economic downturn.
