Assam: Kingpin of Motorcycle thieves gang under custody, police recovers 12 stolen bikes

GUWAHATI: The East Guwahati Police District team from Khetri PS today located and arrested the kingpin of the gang of motorcycle thieves. The accused named Deep Saikia was arrested from 10th Mile Jorabat.

Earlier on August 26, the police team recovered a stolen KTM Duke 250 Motor Cycle and apprehended 3 accused.

Thereafter, based on the leads given by these 3 arrested, in the early morning hours of August 28, the Police team recovered 7 more bikes and arrested 8 more accused in the case.

Following the trail through painstaking detective work, on August 29, the police team recovered 4 more bikes.

In total the Khetri Police team arrested 12 accused and recovered 12 bikes.

The recoveries are as follows:

1 KTM Duke 250

1 TVS Apache RTR

1 TVS

7 Honda Dio Scooty(s)

2 TVS NTORQ Scooty(s)

The mastermind Deep Saikia is being further examined to unearth additional details about the network.
