Assam: KMSS Leader Akhil Gogoi Falls Sick, Taken to GMCH for Treatment

Guwahati, February 29, 2020:

Assam Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi has fallen ill and as per reports he has been rushed to the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for further treatment.

Latest reports said that the peasant leader is suffering from fever and his blood sugar levels have also decreased. It may be mentioned here that Akhil Gogoi has been suffering from illness since the past few days.

He was brought to GMCH a couple of days ago for medical tests. This time, he is undergoing treatment at the Bhangagarh Medical.

Akhil Gogoi’s illness has come a day after Zubeen Garg collapsed during the launch of a folk music project called “Project Borgeet”. He was rushed to Nemcare Hospital, close to GMCH on Friday evening.

It may be mentioned here that the peasant leader has been staying behind the bars since December, 2019 amid the protests of Citizenship Amendment Act or CAA in Assam. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been handling his case.
