KOKRAJHAR: One of the accused of the sensational Kokrajhar double rape and murder case was severely injured when the police fired at him after he tried to flee.
Forizul Rahman (22), tried to escape during search operation near Bedlangmari, Salbari. The police had to fire at him to prevent him from escaping, informed senior officials.
He further informed that the accused has sustained severe injuries and and has been refered to Barpeta Hospital.

According to reports, the two girls were from the Rabha community and their deaths were initially reported as suicide. However, the family of the victims demanded an investigation.
Police said that the suspected perpetrators were known to the girls and lived close to their houses.
The Assam police on Wednesday arrested 7 culprits involved in henious crime.
The accused aged between 19 to 27, were identified as Muzammil Sheikh, Nazibul Sheikh, Farouk Rahman, Hanif Sheikh, Jahanur Islam, Md. Atab Ali and Sankarde Barman.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier taken to Twitter to condole the death of the minors and instructed the police to undertake an extensive investigation to nab the perpetrators.
