ASSAM: LOK SABHA MP FILES CASE AGAINST FORMER ULFA LEADER

Case filed against former ULFA leader Jiten Dutta

Lok Sabha MP Sushmita Dev ( Silchar Constituency) today filed a case against former ULFA leader Jiten Dutta. In the report filed, she mentioned about Jiten Dutta’s statement on marching with thousands of cadre from Brahmaputra Valley to Barak Valley to establish Assamese hegemony in the Barak Valley to obtain support from local people to oppose the proposed Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.The Silchar District Congress Committee has requested the Superintendent of Police, Cachar, Silchar to take necessary steps to ensure no such threats is carried out and also take necessary actions under the IPC for issuing such threats to the people.
