Assam Man Files FIR Against All Airlines Operating in India

Dibrugarh, November 3, 2019:

A chartered accountant (CA) hailing from Dibrugarh district of Assam has filed a complaint against all the airlines operating in India for fraudulently non-refunding ticket fares and taxes of the flights not availed by passengers.

CA Suresh Chandra Varma, in his complaint, stated that all the Airlines operating in India are involved in a fraudulent act of not refunding the ticket fares collected from passengers even after cancellation of flights.

He further alleged Indigo Airlines of charging an extra amount of Rs. 50 for printing tickets at the airport counter. “Secondly, Indigo Airlines charges an amount of Rs. 50 for printing the ticket at the airport counter but no receipt for this is given to the passengers which results in total GST amount fraud.”

In his complaint addressed to the Officer-in-charge of Dibrugarh Police Station, he stated, “I being a senior chartered accountant understand the implication of my complaint and am ready to provide all the evidences by me for this fraudulent activities being carried on by the AIRLINES.”

He also alleged that the Airlines are involved in a scam of over Rs. 1,000 Crores.
