BAKSA: A bizarre suicide case has been reported from Assam's Baksa district where a man has reportedly committed suicide dressing up like a groom.
The body of a 30-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling inside a room.
The deceased has been identified as Tapan Deka, a resident of Jhargaon village under Tamulpur Police Station in Baksa.
According to our source, Tapan had dinner with his family and went to sleep in his room on September 7 night, but the next morning when Tapan did not come out of his room until 12:30 p.m., it sparked suspicion.
After receiving no response from inside the room, one of his relatives looked inside through the window while he found him hanging from the ceiling.

On receiving information about the incident, Tamulpur Police rushed to the scene and discovered the body of the 30-year old.
Later the body was taken for a post mortem examination before being handed over to the family to perform his last rites.
According to police, Tapan had been working inter-state for the past few years but he had to return home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced Tapan to sit unemployed, said police.
While the locals have assumed that he has committed suicide due to mental depression.
His family members, on the other hand, stated that they have no idea why he took the drastic step.
