Eight new corona positive cases have been confirmed in Assam. 3 of the cases are from the Korajhar, 2 from Dhubri, and 1 from Dibrugarh. This is the 1st Corona positive case detected in Dibrugarh. The patient is in a hotel quarantine in the hotel Devika. The patient is a resident of Lezai Miri pathar gaon, Barbaruah with travel history at Tamilnadu. He reached Dibrugarh on 18th May. Name Indeswar Mili.
With this case, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has gone up to 199. Of the 199 confirmed cases, 138 are active cases while 54 have been cured or discharged and four have died of the infection in the state so far. Three COVID-19 patients have been migrated.
Taking stock of the matter, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted:
Assam has the highest number of positives followed by Tripura. Sikkim so far has 0 home cases.

As of 21th May, India has reached 112,000* in terms of corona positives. The country currently has 63,624 active cases with 45,299 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 3,435.

As many as +132 coronavirus deaths were confirmed in India in the last 24 hours. Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 39,297 corona cases with 10,318 cured and 1,390 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 12537 cases with 5219 cured and 749 deaths. Tamil Nadu has crossed 13,191 cases with 5,882 cured and 87 deaths. The National Capital with 11,088 covid19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on18th May. So, far 5,192 have been cured in Delhi with 176 deaths.
India has already overtaken China in terms of coronavirus cases and so far it is the country with 11th most cases in the world. So far, the USA has the highest number of covid19 cases at 1,592,723.
The recovery rate has increased to 40% since 26.59% on May 4 when lockdown 3.0 commenced. On april 15 when lockdown 2.0 began, the rate of recovery was 11.42%.
