Assam-Meghalaya CM level talk on border issue underway

GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister level talk between Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya Conrad Sangma counterpart underway at Assam Administrative Staff college in Guwahati.

The two Chief Ministers along with senior officials from both the states will sit across table to discuss the border issues.

This is the second time both the Chief Ministers are sitting for discussions related to the vexed issue.

Earlier, both the Chief Ministers had conducted a meeting on the border disputes on June 23 in Shillong.

During the earlier meeting , both decided to put in their best efforts to resolve the decades old inter-state boundary dispute and go beyond the word “status quo” which has been maintained by both the states.
