One day after the signing of the tripartite agreement between the Government and the Bodo organizations, Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has called forth the non-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and its Commander-in-Chief Paresh Baruah to join peace parlays with the GoI.

The Minister, addressing the media here, said, "Around Bohag Bihu, the Government is getting ready to relay rich news to the people of Assam. Eagerly, we await the coming of the recommendation of the high-powered committee of the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord. Moreover, Home Minister Amit Shah has also clarified that the recommendations will be pondered upon with positivity by the Centre. Now, I call upon ULFA Chief Paresh Baruah to join the peace talks after the signing of the Bodo Accord, so that peace can prevail in Assam"

The Minister also informed that the Government of India is waiting for the ULFA (I) to join the peace parlays. "I appeal the people of Assam that we should all urge the ULFA (I) to join the peace talks, just like the Bodo groups joined the peace talks...The ULFA and its leader Paresh Baruah should come overground and join the peace talks.."
