"Many college professors have joined protests against the CAA. I do not have problems with that. But apart from that, how many educative seminars have we conducted? Have we conducted discussion circles so that people can know both sides?", Biswa Sarma, speaking to a young gathering at the Chief Minister's Youth Conclave.
Biswa Sarma also said that the intellectual society has not not held discussions on the topic and accused the intelligentsia of being "misinformed" in regards to the issue. "If there were intellectual discussions, they would not have said that 2.5 crore Hindu Bengalis would come to Assam because of the CAA."

He further accused the protesters of the CAA of getting swayed by emotions, rather than being led by reason, and called upon the people to listen to the 'voice of reason'.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Rajashri Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), the only open university in the state, has decided that the Citizenship Amendment Act and Article 370 will be a part of the syllabus of a new three-month certificate course.
