In a heart shocking incident, a mother and her one-year-old daughter were reportedly drowned at Janali River near Saraibil on Friday amidst ongoing flash flood hour while on her way from a village in Kokrajhar district, Assam.

 The incident took place on Friday at day-broadlight along the Janali River under Kachugaon police station.Villagers from the locality,immediately started search on the river and later fished out bodies of mother and her daughter.They have been identified as Runjuma Narzary(26) and Swrjima Narzary(one-year),hailing from Pokalagi village. Runjuma Narzary was the wife of Pradip Narzary,who is a daily wage earner in his family.

On Saturday, Assam Social welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma made a maiden visit at the victim family member at Pokalagi village and met family member as well villagers.She took stock about incidents and assured for necessary helping hand steps from the state government over the incident.She said that state government was working hardly for rescue from the flood affect and river erosion situations as state is facing severe grims due to floods.

Earlier in BTAD Assam, although all factions of the NDFB had come to the mainstream through the BTR accord (Bodoland Territorial Region) signed on 27th January, yet some unknown miscreants trying to create chaos and presented by planning to kidnap a person from Tipkai Bazar and police administration able to take strict action against the miscreants and apprehended two persons on Saturday in Kokrajhar district, Assam.

According to SP Kokrajhar Rakesh Roushan, based on a source input regarding an attempt by unknown miscreants to Kidnap someone from Tipkai area under Bogribari police station, Assam a trap was laid by deputy SP(HQ),  OC Bogribari, in-charge Tipkai and staff in and around Tipkai market area. Police personnel in civvies were placed in and around the market area on Saturday.
