Sensation griped across Tinsukia district in Assam after the decomposed body of a journalist was recovered from an office of a local media house. The body was recovered from the office located at Jyotinagar in Na-Pukhuri in the district.

The journalist has been identified as Bijen Deep. He was missing for last three days, family members said.

The incident came to light after the locals witnessed the body in the office.

The district Superintendent of Police, Officer-in-Charge of the Tinsukia Sadar Police station and the district magistrate rushed to the incident spot. Later, the body was sent for post mortem examination.

Police suspected murder of the journalist. “We have started an investigation into the case. Everything will be clear once the investigation is completed,” an official said.

Family members of the deceased demanded appropriate action against those involved in the murder and justice to the slain journalist.
