Hav Padam Bahadur Shrestha, a son of Golaghat district in Assam, was martyred yesterday after Pakistan armed forces violated the ceasefire along the LoC.
The death of the valiant Gorkha jawan has left Assam in a state of grief.

The mortal remains of Padam Bahadur Shrestha will arrive at Dimapur Airport on 22 October 2019, at around 1 pm. From there, his mortal remains will be brought to his home via road.
Army Chief Bipin Rawat on Sunday said that around 6-10 Pakistani soldiers had been killed and three terror camps destroyed in Indian Army strikes against Pakistani infiltration.
It may be mentioned that two Gorkha jawans were martyred during the Pakistan army’s ceasefire violation in the Tanghar sector of Jammu & Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
General Bipin Rawat said, “6-10 Pakistani soldiers have been killed, 3 camps have been destroyed.”
Rawat also confirmed that the Indian Army had used artillery guns to target terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. General Bipin Rawat said that the Army had confirmed information that terrorists are coming closer to the forward areas especially the Keran, Tangdhar and the Naugaon sector in Kashmir.

He said, “Ever since Article 370 was abrogated from J&K, we have been getting repeated inputs of infiltration by terrorists from across the border to disturb peace and harmony in the state.”
