GUWAHATI: Stressing on the tensions along the Assam-Nagaland border, the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) said that it should not have an impact on economic activity of Northeastern regions.
Holding a two-day executive council meeting yesterday at Manipur’s Dimapur, the members of CNCCI termed the occasion ‘historic’for the two neighbouring states—Assam and Nagaland as well as for two particular apex bodies—CNCCI and Assam Chamber of Commerce (ACC).

The two chairmen, Sisir Dev Kalita (ACC) and Khekugha (CNCCI), also announced the formation of a committee comprised of all chambers of commerce from the eight northern states to promote trade and commerce.
"The two chambers have decided to form a committee in the Assam's Jorhat and Dibrugarh and Karbi Anglong districts to ensure that business is not disrupted even in the event of border disputes, since disputes are to be resolved by the governments of Assam and Nagaland," a statement said.
