ASSAM: NDFB(S) MILITANT GUNNED DOWN IN KOKRAJHAR

Based on specific input regarding movement of a group of National Democratic Front of Bodoland(S) cadres, a joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Police and 3 Rajput Regiment in a jungle track in Ripu Reserve Forest under Serfanguri PS. During the ambush 3/4 armed NDFB(S) cadres were seen moving. When challenged, they opened indiscriminate fire on the security forces to which the operation team retaliated. As the firing ceased, a search was conducted. During preliminary search, one bullet riddled body of NDFB(S) cadre with one AK series rifle with magazine, live rounds, backpack, mobile with Bhutan SIM card, cash etc. Were recovered from the encounter site. The injured cadre was immediately shifted to RNB Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar, but was declared brought dead. Search operation is going on and a case has been registered.
