ASSAM: NEGLIGENCE OF THE COMMUNITIES IS A BETRAYAL OF THE GOVERNMENT: LURIN JYOTI GOGOI

The general secretary of All Assam Students Union, Lurin Jyoti Gogoi slammed Jual Oram, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs who reportedly stated that it takes times to grant ST status to any community and hence there is little hope to adorn them with the title.

Lurin Jyoti Gogoi stated that such a negligence is sheer betrayal on the part of both the Central and the State go5and that they are guided by Political motives.. Gogoi in the felicitation program organized by Golaghat district Students Union stated that the Government which promised to accord 6 communities with ST status should not step back now and that such modalities by the BJP government won't be entertained anymore. He stated that they would protest until their demands get fulfilled.
