Assam: Nine Arrested for Planning Robbery in Guwahati

Guwahati, January 28, 2020:

The Crime branch of Guwahati has apprehended nine dacoits, who were allegedly preparing to carry out robbery in the city.

A joint operation was conducted by the crime branch and east district based on specific information about a number of dacoits and their plans of robbery in the city.

Around six daggers, three masks, nine mobile phones and six monkey caps have been recovered from the possession of the dacoits.

The nine have been identified as Atabur Ali (38), Sahil Hussain (38), Lukman Hussain (24), Abdul Mujib (27), Md. Anowar Islam (27), Md. Aminul Islam (19), Md. Ikrabul Ali (33), Md. Guljar Hussain (24) and Hanif Ali (38).

Seven of the arrested individuals are from Nagaon and two are from Hojai district of Assam. Further interrogation and process of legal action is in progress.
