A massive fire broke out at N. K. Darranga Mela (Garage Lane) in Assam’s Baksa district in the wee hours on Sunday.
The Royal Bhutan Police (Fire Unit) came to rescue the local people from across the border in Tamulpur village along the Indo-Bhutan border.
The immediate response of the Royal Bhutan Police (Fire Unit) to douse the fire at Darranga Mela saved a large number of shops in the market.
The locals of the region said that the response of the fire unit from the other side of the border has proved the proverb, “Friend in need is a friend in deed”.
It may be stated here that many shops were gutted. It led to a huge loss of property in the market area, according to reports.
