Hailakandi DC Keerthi Jalli reviewed the progress of schemes and projects of different departments Thursday.
Reviewing the schemes and projects at the District Development Committee, DC, Jalli asked the departments to accelerate the pace of development and to complete the unfinished works.
Hailakandi DC, Jalli said that the benefits of the different welfare schemes and development projects must reach out to the intended beneficiaries and the people as a whole.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of some schemes and projects and asked the departmental heads to make concerted efforts to take the programmes to their logical conclusions so that the fruits of development are reaped by the people.
Some of the departmental heads cited the slow progress of construction work due to inclement weather and flooding.
However, Jalli made it clear that the administration would brook no further delay in the execution of development work that leads to cost escalation and caused inconvenience to people.

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of work of PWD (RR), PWD (State Road), PWD (NH), Irrigation, PHE, Agriculture, Transport, Fisheries, Handloom & Textiles, DI&CC, Assam Skill Development Mission, KVK, APDCL, Urban Development, etc.
The review meeting attended by District Development Commissioner, Madhumita Choudhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner, EL Faihraem, Assistant Commissioner, Parikshit Phukan and district heads of various departments lasted for more than five hours.
The administration has decided to hold the DDC meeting on 25th of every month instead of 8th from this month onwards.
