In a shocking incident, angry mob made a  non-Assamese shop owner kneel down for misbehaving with a specially abled local in Jorhat district in Assam.

JORHAT: In a shocking incident, angry mob made a  non-Assamese shop owner kneel down for misbehaving with a specially abled local in Jorhat district in Assam.

The incident took place at Torajan in Jorhat on Saturday when a specially-abled local, Pinku Sharma went to the shop to purchase tiles. According to reports, the owner of Shyam Steel and Sanitize allegedly misbehaved with Sarma.

"The owner was arguing with someone So I went to interfere. Due to my leg I wasn't able to enter his shop. He saw me and started yelling at me.", narrated Sarma.

The owner, identified as Goju went on to say that he will urinate on Sarma and that he can call anyone he wants if he has the guts, stated Sarma.

The incident created an outrage among the locals who rushed to the shop with a motive to teach the owner a lesson.

"Being a non-Assamese, staying at Assam how can he misbehave with an local that too a specially abled person. We cannot tolerate such kind of behaviour", said a local resident.

"To set an example, today we gathered at this place and made the owner kneel down in public and apologize", he added.

The mob added that the incident should be taken as a warning for all non-Assamese business owners who run their business in the state.

They further urged everyone to not purchase any item from the shop.
