Due to the incessant rain lashing the entire North-eastern region, the massive flood has been reported from across the state of Assam. Because of the rainwater descending down from the neighbouring areas -- Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan -- over 62,000 people have been affected across various districts in the state.
In the report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 145 villages are underwater and 3,435 hectares of crop areas have been affected so far in the flood.

Moreover, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it has been forecast that heavy rain will continue in the state in the next few days.
Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Biswanath, Golaghat, Jorhat, Dibrugarh Barpeta, Chirang are the districts that have undergone serious damages. Roads and bridges connectivity have been highly damaged in many of the places.
Rivers such as Brahmaputra, Dhansiri, Jia Bharali, Subansiri, Aai, Puthimari, and Beki have reached the 'danger level', as informed by the ASDMA.
