Assam: Patient alleges 'expired saline' used at Dhubri Civil Hospital

DHUBRI: An elderly patient, who was admitted to the Dhubri Civil Hospital in Assam on Tuesday morning, has alleged she was administered expired saline water by the hospital staff.

An unprecedented atmosphere occurred at Dhubri Civil Hospital over the reports of expired saline to some women patients. Some women have reportedly fallen ill after being administered saline in the hospital.

The patient's relatives were outraged when the issue of expired saline finally came to the fore.

Immediately, a team of doctors and nurses from the hospital reached the women's section of the hospital and tried to cover up the matter but the public was outraged by the negligence of the hospital authorities and managed to inform media persons.

The locals have demanded the Dhubri district administration to conduct a proper inquiry into the matter at Dhubri Civil Hospital and who gave the expired saline by dereliction of duty and strict action should be taken against the culprits.
