Spl Director General Of Police(SB) Pallab Bhattacharyya when contacted made some radical revealations in connection with the abduction of Gopal Upadhayay, a clerk at the tea gardens owned by Radha Chetia under Jagoon Police Station on 4th June. ULFA(I) itself claimed responsibility for the captivity of Upadhayay. A video with Gopal Upadhyay confessing of his allegence to the cadre that he works for the group against Radha Chetia and the MLA of the district. "Paresh Baruah posted a video in ULFA Facebook swadhin Asom where a purported confession by kidnapped Gopal Upadhyay was posted. Even a child can infer by looking at the video that it was made under tremendous duress and putting the kidnapped victim under threat of murder". Bhattacharya also stated that Shri Radha chetia has been receiving phone calls from Arunudoy Dohotia and Paresh Baruah Michel Dekaphukan from different cell numbers. They demanded three crore rupees as ransom and threatened him with dire consequences which stands in contrast to the pamphlets ULFA(I) has been circulating denying the demand made by them to any Tea Estates. The organisation is demanding money from an indigenous person which is really deplorable
