Assam: Police arrest NSCN-IM cadre in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: In a joint operation, a joint team of army and police personal on Tuesday apprehended a National Socialist Council of Nagaland -Isak Muivah faction (NSCN-IM) militant near Tinkopani Reserve Forest in Tinsukia.

Based on specific information, a team of the Army’s Red Shield Division under Spear Corps and the police launched an operation.

The team seized one pistol with three rounds of ammunition, a detonator, and 250 gm of explosives.

Further investigation underway.
