Assam Police have recovered arms and ammunitions from the possession of a suspected Rhino poacher in Nagaon.
Nagaon Police had conducted an operation based on a secret information about poaching activities at the Kaziranga National Park in Harmoti area of Jakhalabandha.
Based on the information, they recovered arms and ammunitions from one Pradip Mura, who is a suspected rhino poacher.

One 303 rifle along with Magazine and Suppressor, eight rounds of live ammunitions of. 303 rifle and one 22 rifle along with magazine have been recovered.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of John Das, APS, Dy SP DSB Nagaon, accompanied by CI (W) Batadrava Insp. Someswar Konwar and SI(UB) Nipu Kalita, O/C Jakhalabandha PS and staff.

It may be mentioned here that poaching has been a serious issue in the Kaziranga, which is home to the famous one-horned Rhinocerous of Assam. Every year, poaching related activities and attempts are carried out by miscreants in the areas sheltering wildlife. Elephant poaching is yet another issue that has gripped the Assam Forest Department and authorities.
