KARIMGANJ: Assam police busted an arms smuggling racket in Badarpur area of Karimganj district on Monday.
The search operation was carried out jointly with Border Security Forces (BSF).
During the operation, the police recovered 44 pistols (7.65 mm) along with magazines & 1 pen pistol.

Two accused persons have been nabbed.
Taking to Twitter, Karimganj Police wrote, "Timely intervention prevented these lethal weapons from falling into the wrong hands!".
Congratulating the police department, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Kudos to ">@karimganjpolice for yet another major crackdown. Keep up the good work."
