DHUBRI: By several accounts, the cattle smuggling nexus is again gearing up and trying to revive the illegal trade. 19 cattle being seized in Balajan Police out-post under Gauripur police station in Dhubri.
Before the smugglers could complete the smuggle, Dhubri police personnel stepped forward to stop the menace of trans-border smuggling of cattle heads.
Dhubri police based on a secret information carried out a special operation in a village area in Burirmarai, Balajan, and were able to seize 19 cattle heads from the possession of a village native.

The arrested youth has been identified as Nur Hossain alias Hapa of Burirmarai village.
It is to be noted that the seized cattle were being prepared for supply to Bangladesh through a remote village in Dhubri. They had reportedly been brought from West Bengal.
Hossain is being interrogated by the police. A case has been registered against the accused and further inquiry will be done.
