DIPHU: In another setback to the drug mafia of Assam, police have been able to bust yet another narcotics chain in the state -- this time in the tribal-inhabited Karbi Anglong district.

Assam's newly-elected chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who has asked the police force to ramp up its war against drugs in order to establish Assam as a drugs-free state.

As per Sarma's Twitter feed, the police have seized pure heroin worth Rs 7 crore in the international market. Two arrests have also been made.

Assam's Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta wrote, "Big supply chain network with solid Narco Terror angle busted just sometimes back in Karbi Anglong. More than 2 kg pure heroin worth 7 crore in international market caught! Two big network players already netted. Congratulations team."
