Assam police gun down one more criminal

GUWAHATI: Assam police on Tuesday night gunned down one more criminal in Karimganj district of Assam.

The deceased person has been identified as Nurul Islam.

Nurul Islam along with one more person was arrested Monday morning from Badarpur Railway Station in a joint operation by Badarpur police and Border Security Force (BSF) from a Silchar-Guwahati bound train.

Police had also recovered 5pistols from the possession of the two.

The police on Tuesday night claimed that Nurul Islam was shot dead while trying to flee from police custody.
