DHUBRI: To commemorate the policemen who laid down their lives for the country, a tribute ceremony was organised at the Dhubri police reserve today 7 am.

It may be recalled, every year as, Shahid Divas which is celebrated in memory of the police personnel who were martyred in the Indo-China war in Ladakh in 1959.

The day been observed for the police personnel who were martyred in the police duty across India as well as in Dhubri district.

District police officials including the district Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gurav, Additional Superintendent of Police, Roji Rani Sarma were present on the occasion. The ceremony paid floral tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the country.

Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gurav stated that the DGP ordered to frame photographs of the martyred policemen for the country and to put up the martyr's photo in the school where they studied so that the generation swells.

The Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gurav also visited a total of 18 martyred families in Dhubri district and met top police officers of Dhubri and offered their condolences.
