DHUBRI: The Dhubri Police arrest two person and recovered a huge quantity of illicit contraband tablets, cough syrups and suspected brown sugar from a pharmacy at Beparipara, Jhagrarpar P-lV under Dhubri Police Station.
Based on a tip-off, the police conducted a joint operation with one section of the 'Quick Action Team' of 48 Battalion of CRPF along with police staffs of Dhubri Sadar at Beparipara area of Jhagrarpar P-lV in a medical store and able to recover huge quantity of illicit contraband tablets, cough syrup and suspected brown sugar.

Police informed that the illicit contraband tablets, cough syrup and suspected brown sugar were seized from the possession of a medical store, who was selling it from the pharmacy. During the raid the store owner and in connection one more person being apprehended by the police personnels.
The drug peddlers have been identified as Hamidul Islam, owner of the pharmacy 'Bhullu Medical' and Hafizur Rahman purchaser been caught red handed, which falls under Dhubri Sadar Police Station.
Police informed, that the accused Hamidul have been supplying such addictive substances in the various regions of the District's town, suburbs and rural areas for some time.
Bidyut Borah Bhuyan, DSP headquarter of Dhubri, said, “We have registered a case against the accused under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 and further investigation is underway.
