GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Police on October 5 arrested a stalker who threatened to kill a woman with a sharp weapon if she doesn’t marry him. The incident was took place in broad daylight infront of Guwahati Central Mall in Zoo road.
The women on October 5 lodged an FIR at the Geetanagar PS stating that one person, named Himadri Baruah had threatened to kill her with a sharp weapon. The police also recovered a sharp weapon (dao) from his possession.

As the victim was registering the FIR, the accused person called on her mobile and further threatened to kill her with a sharp weapon if she didn't meet him.
On receipt of the information, OC Geetanagar PS along with his team immediately rushed to the spot and apprehended the accused .
The entire action happened in a span of 30 minutes from the receipt of information.
Earlier, on the same day, the accused person also outraged the modesty of the victim and physically assaulted her in the parking area of Central Mall when she was there with her friend.
A case has been registered under IPC 447/379/354/325/307/506.
