DHUBRI: The cattle smugglers do not care for the law even after the "Assam Cattle Preservation Act, 2021" came into force. The smuggling of cattle continues to transport from Haryana and other states of India via West Bengal and Dhubri towards Indo-Bangladesh.

Assam Police today seized five numbers of cattle heads on National Highway 17 at Agomoni in Dhubri district. However, the officials have not been able to nab the cattle trader but seized the cattle heads while smuggling.

The recovered cattle were being prepared for smuggled to Bangladesh through a distant settlement of Dhubri.

Dhubri police have stepped forward to tackle the threat of cattle heads being smuggled across the border.

Later, the confiscated cattles were forwarded to government pound, informed Officer In-charge, Aminur Rahman of Agomani police station, Dhubri.
